Doksy is a town spread out in the Ralsko upland in the North Bohemia, northwestward of Mlada Boleslav. Doksy became well-known thanks to the Machovo lake, the largest lake in this region. It is 350ha large. The Machovo lake offer many possibilities of recreation and relaxation. It is possible to go round by a steamship or hire a boat. There are also long sand beaches. The lake has two islands, the Mysi zamek (the mouse chateau) and the Kachni ostrov (the duck island) - a protected zone of birds.
A lot of nice tourist and cycle paths lead through Doksy heading to the Ralska upland and the Kokorinsko area. The town is also a good starting point for a trip to the Bezdez hill (604m) with the castle of the same name.
